Harold Dean Mattingly, age 73,of Melbourne,Flordia, passed away Wednesday, August 29,2012 in Flordia.
He was born December 9,1938 in Edmonson County, Kentucky, the son of the late James Gordon Mattingly and Era Richards Lacefield. He was retired from the U. S. Navy where he served 32 years.
Dean was a good and devoted father and is survived by two daughters, Kerri Lynn Mattingly, of Melbourne, Flordia, and Jimmi Dean Mattingly-Propes, of Arlington, Texas; a son, Jerry Dale Mattingly, of Tennessee; his step-father, Earl Lacefield, of Caneyville; his half-brothers, Tom Lund, of Paducah, Earl Lacefield Jr., James Mattingly, David Mattingly, and Billy Mattingly; his half sisters,Wanda Votaw and Barbara Johnson, both of Falls of Rough, Karen Allen, of Leitchfield, Sarah Shaw, of Sweetwater,Tennessee, Martha Mattingly and Mary Mucat; his grandchildren, Courtenay Clayton, Brittany Mattingly, and Travis Mattingly, all of Flordia, Sarah Mattingly and Zachary Mattingly; and several great-grandchildren, Janie, Jessi, Julissa, Lynnix, and Jewelynn Mattingly, all of Flordia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane “Janie” Chapman Mattingly.
A memorial service was held, Tuesday, September 4,2012 at Melbourne, Flordia.
