Larry Douthitt, age 65, of Big Clifty, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

Larry was a member of the East Grayson County Fire Department, a Kentucky Colonel,Volunteer for the V.A.V in Leitchfield. He was a retired bus driver for Hardin County Schools, a member of Masonic Lodge #599 and a retired car salesman.

He was born October 18, 1946 in Grayson County, the son of the late Hayward and Martha Pawley Douthitt.

Larry was married to the late Mary Doris Sims Douthitt and the father of two daughters, Marsha (Phillip) Vanbenschoten, of Leitchfield, and Bonita (John) Thurman, of Elizabethtown, KY.

Other survivors include three brothers, Allen Douthitt, of Caneyville, Kennie Douthitt, of Shepherdsville, and Terry Douthitt, of Leitchfield; two sisters, Linda Brooks, of Bowling Green, and Brenda Simpson, of Benton; five grandchildren, Jonathon, Joshua, Matthew, Caleb and Phillip, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one brother, Douglas Wayne Douthitt.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September. 8, 2012, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Friends may call at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home after 11am Friday, September 7, 2012. Prayer serviceswill be at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
