Gladys Carter Dennison, 95, of Leitchfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her home in the Hanging Rock community.

Gladys, a devoted wife and loving mother, was born April 5, 1917, in Grayson County, the daughter of Wayman and Sarah Carter. She was a housewife and a member of the Hanging Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Joann Probus and her husband Earl Ray, Dorothy Armstrong, and Donna Wooden and her husband David; one son, J.W. Dennison and his wife Patsy; two daughters-in-law, Anne Dennison and Kathy Dennison; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Stanley Chancellor Dennison; three sons Randall, Jackie, and Stephen; two grandchildren, Diana Wooden-Witty and Davey Wooden; a great-grandson, Deuce Dunn and one son-in-law, Clinton Armstrong. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gordon and Cletus.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, with Bro Billy Carter and Bro. Fred Whitmore officiating. Burial will be in the Hanging Rock Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 12 Noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. Monday until time of service.
