SFC James T. Bell retired, 62, of Caneyville passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

He was born on June 20, 1949 in Savannah, Georgia, the son of Dewey and Elizabeth Bell. He served in the Unites States Army during the Vietnam Era and retired as a Staff Sergeant First Class. James was also a custodian for the Grayson County High School.

He is survived by his wife Sarah Bell; two sons, James Thomas Bell Jr. (Susan), of Missouri, and Roy Allen Bell, of Lexington; his granddaughter, Kylie Dawn Bell, of Caneyville; one step-son, Raymond Berberich (Christine), and one granddaughter, Brianna Berberich, both of Radcliff; three step-daughters, Cindy R. Berberich, of Valley Station, Norma Flynn (Dan), and Ruth Huddleston (Mike), both of Florida; his father, Dewey B. Bell, of Leitchfield; his brother, Dewey B. Bell, Jr. (Donna), of Alaska; and his sister, Pat Turner (Joel), of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Bell.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Burial will be in the Fort Knox Cemetery, in Radcliff, on Friday at 11 a.m, cst.
