A mobile home fire on Monday morning destroyed the home of soldier Brad Hall and his wife on Kiper Road.

Leitchfield Fire Department put out the flames with assistance from Clarkson Fire Department, and helped the family move what items could be saved from the burned structure located at 574 Kiper Road.

Second Assistant Chief Tony King, with LFD, said that the Halls’ home is beyond repair. “They might have salvaged some stuff,” he said, “but most of it will be lost.”

Hall’s wife was at home when the fire began, but as uninjured in the blaze.

While the exact cause of the fire is not known, firefighters believe it may have begun with a heat lamp on the home’s back deck.

King said that the damage to the home is beyond repair, but that the American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.

Anthony Noe, of the American Legion, also said that his group would assist the family in the face of this tragedy.
