Viola W. Ruder, 84 of Laurel, MD, formerly of Grayson County, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012.

She was a native of the Peonia area of Grayson County on Huffman Road, the daugher of L. W. and Mary Huffman Lashley. She was a member of the Antioch General Baptist Church in Peonia and lived in Maryland for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sol Ruder, Sr.; her parents, Willis and Mary M. Lashley; four sisters, Odessa, Frankie, Bernice and Marie and a special nephew, Earl Moore.

She is survived by a son, Sol F. Ruder and his wife Sandra, of Texas, two step childen, Tamarra White and Walter Dobson, one brother, James T. “Jim” Lashley, of Leitchfield; two granddaughters, Crystal Cline and Sherry Payton, as well as step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Delmer Williams officiating. Burial was in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
