Wilson and Muir Bank continued with a tradition they began more than a quarter century ago as they hosted their annual “Farmer Appreciation” event on Wednesday at their Main Street branch.
The group served hamburger lunches as just one of their ways of showing their “appreciation of farmers here locally and nationally both,” according to VP Branch Manager Ryan Bratcher.
More than 350 lunches were served at this year’s event, with tasty burgers prepared by the local Cattleman’s Association, which have partnered with WMB for several years now.
In addition to local farmers, many members of the high school Future Farmers of America (FFA) club were also present.
“It’s great to see the next generation of farmers,” said Bratcher.
Great food, beautiful weather and a friendly atmosphere all went together to create what Bratcher considered “a great time” at this year’s Farmer Appreciation lunch.
