Hope VanMeter Peters, age 90, of Big Clifty, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at her home.

She was born on January 2, 1922 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Stroud and Marie VanMeter.

She was a housewife, who enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by three daughters, Jennie Hill (Charles), of Leitchfield, Patty Higdon (Kerry), of Elizabethtown and Marilyn Peters, of Big Clifty, her grandchildren, Dwayne, Stacy, Jeff, Pamela, BJ, Monica, Aaron, Ashley and Rodney, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a step-sister, Adalee VanMeter, of Leitchfield.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, one son, Barry Peters, and one daughter, Sheila Roof.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro Charlie Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4- p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. Friday until time of services.
