A one-vehicle wreck on Brandenburg Road on Saturday morning sent a Leitchfield woman to University of Louisville Hospital with incapacitating injuries, according to Sheriff Rick Clemons.

The accident report states that Kendra L. Chino, 31, of Green Meadow Road in Leitchfield, was travelling north approximately one-half mile north of the city of Leitchfield when the 2006 General Motors CK 1500 Crew Cab pick-up truck she was driving dropped off of the outside shoulder of the roadway.

Chino told officers that the vehicle became difficult to steer at that point, and she lost control as the truck crossed over onto the opposite side of the roadway before striking a ditch and overturning.

Chino, who suffered incapacitating hand and arm injuries, was treated at the scene by Grayson County EMS, and was transported by emergency helicopter to U of L Hospital.

Chino was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, and Clemons said “this was truly an incident where seatbelts saved lives.”
