A one-vehicle accident on Wilson Church Road ended when a man was air-lifted to University of Louisville for treatment of injuries.
Jerry M. Jones, of Roundhill, was travelling west on the roadway approximately six miles west of the city of Caneyville when the accident happened at about 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, September 6.
According to the accident report filed by the responding officer, Grayson County Sheriff Rick Clemons, explains that the 1994 Ford Aerostar being driven by Jones dropped off of the shoulder of the roadway before overcorrecting and going to the left side of the road.
At that point, Jones cut the vehicle back to the right and left the roadway, striking a ditch before coming to a final rest.
Jones suffered multiple incapacitating injuries in the accident, and was treated by Grayson County EMS before being flown by emergency helicopter to U of L Hospital.
The accident report states that Jones was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
The Aerostar, which belongs to Patricia Elmore, of Caneyville, sustained severe damage in the front-impact collision.
