A routine day of serving warrants turned into another meth arrest for the Leitchfield Police Department.

Police apprehended a Caneyville man on drug-related charges on August 1.

Officer Brandon Cook arrested and charged Anthony G. Campbell, 34, Caneyville, with manufacturing methamphetamine first offense, tampering with physical evidence, probation/parole violation warrant and possession of a controlled substance first degree-first offense-drug unspecified.

LPD Detective Kevin Smith explained that Cook was serving a warrant to Campbell (for a parole violation), when he noticed methamphetamine and several other materials used to manufacture the deadly drug.

Kentucky State Police Detective Kevin Henderson and deputies with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department assisted with cleanup of the scene.

Campbell is currently being held in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 5.
