Motorcycle accident sends one to hospital

A Grayson County man listed in serious condition in a Louisville Hospital following a motorcycle accident Wednesday, July 7 around 12 p.m.

Kentucky State Police Officer Davy Norris responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on the corner of Blackrock Road and HWY 62, about three miles west of Leitchfield.

Norris reported , Timothy Elliot, 43, of Leitchfield was traveling west on HWY 62 on a 2007 Harley Davidson Motorcycle when he collided with a 1994 Toyota Pickup Truck being driven by Calvin Jewell, 42, of Leitchfield. He attempted to pass two vehicles that were not involved with the accident.

Elliott saw the vehicle turning left onto Blackrock Road and attempted to avoid the vehicle but was unable to avoid the collision.

Elliott hit the side of the truck and flew over the vehicle landing in a grassy area next to the intersection.

He was transported Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for serious injuries and later flown to University of Louisville Hospital. Where he is listed in serious condition as of press time Friday.

The report stated Elliott had not been wearing a helmet. Jewell, who was wearing a seatbelt and escaped injury.
