A single vehicle accident claimed the life of a Louisville man just after midnight Sunday morning.

According to a report from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Steven Bray, 45, of Louisville was traveling westbound on Owensboro Road when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

“According to the evidence at the scene the 1993 Chevrolet Caprice left the roadway on the left side and struck a tree,” said Deputy Michael Colvin. “There were no skid marks and no apparent reasons why the vehicle left the roadway.”

Central Dispatch received a call around 12:43 a.m. reporting the accident at the 4100 block of Owensboro Road.

Bray was trapped in the vehicle and was removed from the vehicle by the Leitchfield Fire Department and transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center by Grayson County Emergency Medical Services, where he later died from his injuries.

Bray was traveling home from his parent’s lake home on Rough River when the accident occurred.

Grayson County Coroner Joe Brad Hudson was called to the hospital where he pronounced Bray dead at 3:10 a.m

An autopsy was performed on Monday and toxicology reports are pending.

According to the police report Bray was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
