The Caneyville City Commission was presented with an update on the next phase of the wastewater project, during the Monday, April 12, meeting.

Kenviron representative Vern Shanklin reported work was progressing on the shop drawings for the next phase of the Sewer Plant Rehab. He plans to submit the drawings to Division of Water this week.

The commission is applying for a Community Block Grant to fund the project.

The Community Development Block Grant public hearing is scheduled for April 19th at 6:00 pm.

In other business:

• Avery Fleener reported the water storage tanks on Windy Ridge and Post Tousey need to be cleaned and any repairs made that are necessary.

• Fleener stated the lift station at the park needs some maintenance. He will obtain additional information for the next meeting.

• He also reported some surplus scrap metal had been sold and funds placed in the revenue account.

• Anthony Clark reported he had attended a meeting in Leitchfield regarding a reverse call system. There was discussion as how this project might be funded and there were inquiries as to what interest the cities would have in being a part of this project. The systems could be utilized to notify citizens of general information in the event of a disaster as well as water leaks, chemical spills, etc.
