One local bank and business have added money to the fund will allow for the My Kentucky Home –Grayson County to be made.

The Bank of Caneyville and Majors Transit Inc both presented checks to Ken Robinson of the Grayson County Historical Society to be used for the movie that will air on KET.

“We donated the money because this sounds like a very interesting project to me and that it will be good for the community,” said bank president Peggy Majors.

The Grayson County Historical Society has been assisting with this project,

“It is encouraging to find the citizens of Grayson County are supporting this project,” said Robinson. “The finished project will be a great asset to businesses and organizations.”

Sam Koltinsky, of Marvo Entertainment, is creating the documentary outlining Grayson County’s history.

“The project is moving along nicely I have already started filming and doing a lot of research,” said Koltinsky. “The county’s bicentennial was the ideal way to start the project. I did a lot of filming that day. “

The county participation was fascinating to Koltinsky.

“It was so interesting to see the young people interacting with the older generations,” said Koltinsky. “Then to watch the citizens of the county kick up their heals to the McDonald Road Band.”

A young student from Campbellsville University has contacted Koltinsky with an interest in helping with the music for the film.

“Seth Johnson is from Eveleigh and is interested in scoring the music for the film,” said Koltinsky. “This is how we work with young people from the area. HE has grown up and now he will work with me on the music scores.”

In addition to filming during the bicentennial Koltinsky has been working closely with the Historical Society finding out the deep history that is unique to Grayson County.

“In the spring I will be doing more filming and putting the project together,” said Koltinsky. “But right now we are putting together a small piece concerning the bicentennial for our web page.”
