The Caneyville City Commission entertained a written request from Sam Koltinsky and Marvo Entertainment to help fund a Grayson County historical movie project for Kentucky Educational Television.
Commissioners were presented with information regarding Koltinsky’s plans to create the documentary outlining Grayson County’s history. Koltinsky is requesting Caneyville help fund the project in much the same fashion as both Leitchfield and Clarkson.
The other two Grayson County municipalities have agreed to help fund the documentary project. Caneyville Commissioners tabled their decision and invited Koltinsky to the city’s January meeting so they could get more information about the project and how the money will spent.
In other business, the Caneyville Commission:
• Agreed to request funding from Area Development Funds to place backs on welcome signs on the various roadways leading into the city.
• Heard a report from Avery Fleener that the waste water plan was back in operation and test results have been positive. • Received the resignation of City Attorney Michael Alvey. Alvey has been appointed to chair of the Worker’s Compensation Board and will be unable to continue as city attorney. Alvey has been city attorney for eight years.
