The City of Leitchfield has jumped on the movie train and agreed to match the Clarkson City Commission’s seed money, in the amount of $4,500, for the Marvo Entertainment project that will create a movie about Grayson County.

During the regular meeting Monday, December 7, the council approved the motion to commit money to the My Kentucky Home- Grayson County project.

Sam Koltinsky, with Marvo Entertainment Group, has made several presentations for local officials and concerned citizens asking for the funds to make this project a reality.

“I need to thank the cities of Leitchfield and Clarkson for taking this project seriously and stepping up to the plate to help fund it,” said Koltinsky. “This wonderful news comes on the heels of the release of the Greenville project.”

Koltinsky explained the one-hour segment takes a look at Grayson County over the last 200 years. KET will show the film.

“The reason I mention the Greenville project is because I just received word from the Director of Programming at KET on the film and his comments were extremely positive. He was very pleased with that project,” said Koltinsky.

Koltinsky said in an earlier interview that he had ties to the community, and was excited about working with area residents.

The colorful history the county holds interest but his grandmother Faye Eveleigh is from the Clarkson area and he has the hometown connection to the county.

Temple Keller was his aunt and Ruth Carol Keller was his cousin. These ladies were at one-time well-known citizens of Clarkson.

The total cost for this project is $60,000. Koltinsky said it will take hours of filming to put together the hour-long documentary and he will bring his crew into the community for six to eight months to get enough information to put together the project and find out exactly, “what makes this county tick.”

Koltinsky added, “I will have another announcement for Grayson County that will be coming up in about two weeks. Once I have confirmed it I will make that announcement.

“We have already begun doing some research on this project and the next thing the county will see is me filming in the next two weeks, “said Koltinsky. “As a way of saying thank you and in the tradition of giving back to the community Marvo Entertainment will purchase the two Bicentennial Banners to be displayed in Leitchfield and Clarkson with the Marvo Logo. “

The Grayson County project was announced to all those who attended the premiere of the Greenville project on Tuesday, December 8.
