While attempting to serve a warrant Grayson County Sheriff Rick Clemons stumbled upon another methamphetamine lab.
Clemons was attempting to locate Jill Duggins, 27, of Leitchfield, to serve a warrant on her for failure to appear when he found her car in the parking lot of the Country Squire Motel on Commerce Drive.
When Clemons knocked on the door of a room near Duggins car, he was overwhelmed by a chemical smell.
“As soon as the door opened the chemical smell hit me,” said Clemons.” I immediately called for backup and was assisted by the Leitchfield City Police as well a other deputies.”
There were three people inside the motel room at the time. All were arrested and charged with manufacturing meth, 1st Offense.
Duggins was also charged with the failure to appear citation and Christopher Duggins, 31, of Leitchfield as well as Brent Clem, 24, were all lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center and are being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
Detective Terry Blanton with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department cleaned up the meth lab inside of the room.
