Just in time for the Christmas shopping season, the Rotary Club’s Radio Auction begins next Tuesday and brings with it some added surprises this year.

The fundraiser, located in the basement of Wilson and Muir Bank on South Main Street in Leitchfield, will run for two nights from 6-9 p.m. with the third night staying open until all items are sold.

A new twist to this year’s event is the addition of a silent auction.

Rotary Club Secretary Jonathan Decker explained why the organization decided to go this route.

“These items may be the harder to describe items or larger ticket items,” Decker urged, “that deserve some extra time and exposure for the donor’s contribution to the auction.”

All of the objects will be displayed with bid sheets at WMB. Bids will be accepted until the last hour of the auction broadcast on Thursday.

An updated list of all items up for bid are available on the organization’s website at www.graysoncountyrotary.com.

“They all make great gift items,” Decker said, “and with the auction in late October, it is perfect timing for someone needing a great deal on a Christmas gift for someone.”

All bids are accepted for radio or silent auction items by phone or in person.

Some of the items up for grabs this year are prints, food certificates, golf packages, sports-related items, fitness memberships and University of Kentucky and University of Louisville game tickets.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Rotary Club’s scholarship and student loan funds.
