On Wednesday, October 13, our 19th wedding anniversary, social services came to our home with an order signed by a judge stating my 12-year-old autistic son was in immanent danger.
The reason was because of multiple assault weapons in the home, and allegations of drugs in the home. Five officers from the police department, two state troopers and two social workers searched our home to find only one loaded pistol, which I keep for home protection. Even the night of the search, one of the police officers said he keeps pistol in his home around children.
The rest of the weapons found were not only unloaded, but in closets, and out of reach of our child, except his own which was broken down in a carry bag.
There were no drugs found in the home, or signs of drug use, except our daily medication. That medicine was on the counter, which they held against me also.
A hunting knife kept on top of the china cabinet was held against us, but a whole butcher block full of knives was not. They are classifying all autistic children the same, when the law says you cannot discriminate. My child was raised shooting guns by age nine and was taught gun safety his whole life.
We live in a free country, which I have done my time to defend. Why are our local social services allowed to act like communist Russia?
