The Hee Haw show, which remains an event favorite during the Caneyville Fair and Homecoming, performed for a packed house at the old Caneyville High School Gymnasium Saturday evening.
The Caneyville Fair and Homecoming was attended by thousands as the summer festival season for Grayson County came to an end this past weekend.

“We were a little concerned the weather would not cooperate this year but it did,” said Caneyville Community Club President Deborah Lambert. “It was perfect. It rained a little on Thursday night but the sun came out just before the parade on Friday morning and everything went well from there.”

The Saturday night HeeHaw Show had the old Caneyville High School gymnasium packed with standing room only the audience was entertained by the local talent.

“That show is always well attended and this year we had over 500 attend,” said Lambert. “It just seems to be a crowd favorite.”

The parade was a big hit too.

“I was glad to see so much support from the elementary school,” said Lambert. “This year we had a special category in the parade just for the floats.”

The old fashion games and carnival rides were a big hit too.

“Everything went well. Everything from the parade, to the rides, to the vendors, it all went well,’ said Lambert. “ I just want to thank all the businesses that support the fair and all the volunteers that help. There is so much that goes into this and without all the help it would not be a success.”
