Water District Manager Kevin Shaw announced the winning bid during the September 28 meeting. The board advertised for materials for the development property work, and four bids were received.
Shaw explained the water district would lay the lines for the project, and the Green Farm Resort would pay for the work. Resort representatives signed the contract agreement last week.
He added that the agreement included $12,000 worth of work for inspection purposes.
In other business:
• A groundbreaking-appreciation picnic will be held on October 22 at 11 a.m. at the back building behind the Warren RECC office. The purpose of the groundbreaking will be to kick off Project 17.
• Shaw was approved to be the designation of applicant for funding received from FEMA, concerning January’s ice storm relief efforts.
The water district is expected to receive about $51,000 in reimbursements. Shaw will be responsible for signing all issues associated with it.
• The Duff tank has been taken out of service for painting touch ups on the inside of the tank.
Shaw explained the tank should be back in service towards the end of next week. This will allow enough time for the painting to cure inside the tank.
• Warren RECC employees were commended for contributing over $50,000 to the United Way campaign.
Over 150 employees participated in the campaign, with an employee annual average of $335. The Leitchfield office alone had a 96.7 percent participation rate.
“This is just another example of great employees,” said Warren CEO Gary Dillard, “giving back, and that is what is important.”
