He was born February 24, 1941. He was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Lynnetta Pence of Big Clifty; two sons, Darrell Pence and Kevin Pence, both of Big Clifty; one sister, Julie Gaither of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Hollye, Tiffany, Devin, Kelsey and Danielle Pence; and one great-grandchild, Dylan Decker.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Pence; his parents, Gayland and Mabel Hart Pence; a grandson, Jamie Pence; granddaughter, Madison Pence; and one brother, Dennis Pence.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home, in Clarkson, Ky., with Bro. Larry Hodge.
Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
