According to a report from Grayson County Sheriff Rick Clemons, while responding to an accident around 4:30 a.m. deputies discovered an abandoned truck registered to a Gary Hatcher, that had recently been wrecked.
The 1993 Dodge pick-up was reportedly left on the side of the eastbound lane of the Western Kentucky Parkway at the 102 mile-marker.
It was reported the vehicle may have hit a tree and then overturned before the occupant abandoned the truck.
“Upon further investigation we recovered the components of a meth lab,” reported Clemons. “We found several ingredients in the woods behind where the truck was found.”
Although the vehicle was registered to Hatcher he reported he had sold the truck to a Clifton Duggins the year before.
Kentucky State Trooper Davy Norris assisted the sheriff department with this accident.
As of press time Tuesday no charges had been filed and the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who has information about illegal use of drugs in the county is urged to call the tip line at 270-200-2222. All information will be kept confidential.
