Some after-prom partying led to the arrest of a Clarkson man in the early hours of Sunday morning, May 10.

According to a report from Kentucky State Police Officer Kevin Henderson, Neil Harrison, 37, of Clarkson was arrested and charged with unlawful transaction with a minor after state police broke up an after-hours prom party.

“We made several traffic stops concerning minors drinking and driving,” said Henderson. “After some investigation a warrant was issued and we arrested Neil Harrison on Highway 62 around 2 a.m.”

Henderson reported several citations were issued and parents of the minors attending the party were called.

“We made sure everyone got home safely,” said Henderson. “But people have to understand it is illegal to provide alcohol to minors.”

There was an alternative to the alcohol related partying that went on in Clarkson.

Operation Prom was in full swing at the high school and although the numbers were lower than in years past, event organizer Angie Jones declared the event a huge success.

If you measure success by numbers then the event supporters may have been disappointed.

“Our numbers were lower than in the past but the kids who chose to attend had a great time and it did offer the kids a safe place to be.” said Jones. “I am sorry these kids got in trouble but what is it going to take to get parent’s support for this program, We did keep 59 kids safe and that is what it is all about.”

Jones went on to add that they were looking at different ways to increase the attendance next year but was determined that the event would go on.

“We may have it in a different location next year or change things around some but as long as there are kids who will come, we will have it,” said Jones.

Harrison was taken to the Grayson County Detention Center where he was released on a $1000 bond.

It is about time they did something with this man. He's been doing this for years. He is NOT the Saint that Grayson County seems to think he is. He is crooked, lies, cheats, steals you name it he does it or has done it. Thank you so much for getting this scum off the streets. At least for a little while. Keep digging and you'll find out a lot about him.
