According to court reports, Lee agreed to plead guilty to the firearm charge after the attorney for the Commonwealth agreed to drop the second charge of possession of a handgun.
On March 17, Lee was sentenced to two years in prison that shall run consecutive with any other sentence imposed by the courts.
Lee was apprehended in January after being treated and released from a Louisville hospital for gunshot wounds in the left shoulder area and in the lower abdomen.
The Kentucky State Police continue to investigate the shooting that happened in the Clarkson area.
A 911 call was received from the ex-Clarkson Police Chief reporting he had been shot.
Lee stated he heard a knock on the door of his residence and when he answered it there were shots fired and the shooter turned and ran from the house, reported State Police Public Relations Officer Steve Pavey,
Lee is currently serving a one-year sentence to the charges of tampering with physical evidence, theft by unlawful taking over $300 and first-degree official misconduct.
Originally Lee’s one-year sentence was probated and that probation was revoked
The original charges are from a six-month investigation that began after a representative from the Bank of Clarkson contacted the mayor of Clarkson, Bonnie Henderson, and requested cash be returned to the bank following a forgery investigation.
The ensuing police investigation proved that Lee, who had been dismissed as Clarkson Police Chief in early January 2007, had received the cash from Detective Todd Cave of the Hardin County Task Force in November of 2006.
Cave had uncovered $1,987 in cash, a check book and a wallet during an unrelated drug arrest and turned over two sealed evidence bags with the cash and other items to Lee as evidence in a forgery investigation that was being conducted by the Clarkson Police Department, according to court records.
