Dorothy Smith Foster, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Ohio County on March 6, 1923, the daughter of the late J.F. and Flora Smith. Dorothy was a member of Woodwards Valley Baptist Church, Centertown, the Matanzas Homemakers and the Ohio County Senior Adult Choir.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Franklin Foster, a grandson, Earl Ray Bevil and sister, Moline Rowan.

Survivors include one son, Steve (Linda) Foster, of Leitchfield; two daughters, Kathy (Larry) Bevil, of Cromwell, and Jeanie (Frank) Kirtley, of Bowling Green; grandchidren, Andrea Hepner, Marty Bevil, Kelly Bevil, Bret Foster, Ben Kirtley and Sarah Rector; great-grandchildren, Alexa Johnson, Olivia Bevil, Jamilee Hepne, Moriah Bevil, Sylvia Bevil, Amelia Bevil, Levi Hepner, Kailey Rector, Caroline Rector, Noah Kirtley, Cole Kirtley, Lily Kate Foster and Harrison Cash Foster,

Also surviving are two sisters, Bonnie Moseley and Wanda Smith, and four brothers, John Smith, Darrell Smith, James F. Smith, Jr. and Dwight Smith.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home, in Beaver Dam, with Bro. David Isbell and Bro. Alton Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, in Hartford.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
