An icy patch on Morgantown Street in Caneyville led to a rollover accident that injured a woman and child on Tuesday morning.

According to an accident report filed by Sheriff Rick Clemons, Dreama D. Parks, 26, of Caneyville, was travelling south on Morgantown Street when she lost control after hitting an ice patch in the roadway. Parks and a witness to the accident said that the 2001 Dodge Ram pickup began to leave the roadway and Parks overcorrected, losing control and leaving the roadway on the opposite side.

After leaving the road, the vehicle hit a ditch and overturned.

Parks suffered possible injuries to her lower extremities, while a 6-year-old passenger suffered non-incapacitating back injuries. A third occupant of the vehicle, a four-year-old girl, was uninjured.

Parks and the child were treated and released from Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

Terry’s Towing removed the severely damaged Dodge, which was licensed to Susan Morgan, of Caneyville, from the scene.
