Friday, Elmer “Ebb” Preston Pawley, age 94 of Leitchfield, passed away on December 21, 2012, at the Grayson Manor Nursing Home, in Leitchfield.

He was a member of the American Legion, a WWII Army Veteran in North Africa and Europe and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, of Eastview, and was a retired mechanic from Miller and Thompson, in Leitchfield, and from maintenance for the city of Owensboro. He loved to garden and fish.

He is survived by one son, Stephen Edward Pawley, of Pee Wee Valley, one daughter, Julia Lynn Butler, of Leitchfield, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Other survivours include several neices and nephews, one sister-in-law, Judy Hart Pawley, as well as many friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gerturde Harrington Pawley, his parents, James Preston Pawley and Barbara Ellen Hilton Pawley, three brothers, Alonzo, Marvin J. and Clarence Pawley, and three sisters, Iola Pawley, Nora Royalty and Martha Douthitt.

Funeral Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the Rogers-Oller Funeral Chapel, in Clarkson, with Rev. David Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 3 - 8 p.m. and Thursday morning after 8 a.m.
