Ruby Woodcock Messenger, age 91 of Leitchfield, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Springview Health & Rehab Center.
She was born July 18, 1921 in Kyrock, KY the daughter of Andrew Jackson Woodcock and Mary Magdalene Decker Woodcock.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Lindsey, of Leitchfield, and Deborah Durbin (John), of Sunfish; four sons, Minor “Mac” Messenger (Anna), of Leitchfield, Teddy Messenger (Cheryl), of Cave City, Charles “Chuck” Messenger (Karla), of Douthan, AL, and Brian Messenger (Joanne), of Elizabethtown; one sister, Delola Harrod of Mammoth Cave; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Jackson Woodcock and Mary Magdalene Decker Woodcock, her husband, Minor Woodrow Messenger, and two children, Joe and Betty Gayle Messenger.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Father Tony Stevenson officiating. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery in Broadway.
Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
