To the Editor:
I have seen so many letters to the editor from Ann Huff in the past and have always wondered how someone can be so negative about the community she lives in, but when she attacks a city councilman for helping his neighbors in a way that implies he is not a good father, that is playing dirty politics.
And why, because Ann Huff came in last and is out of the race for a seat on the city council?
How inappropriate for Mrs. Huff to question Steven Elder as a father and to do it publicly!! What is wrong with you, Mrs. Huff? I know Steven and his family personally, unlike Mrs. Huff. I am so proud of him and his family.
I have seen the love and respect that Steven has for his kids and his wife. He is a wonderful father who is always thinking of his kids in everything he does. Even though Steven spends countless hours volunteering his time to make our community better, he never misses his daughter’s home volleyball games. Also, I have seen countless pictures of Steven and his son on Facebook, and I have seen the fun that those two have together. He is such a proud father.
I think we are so lucky to have young energetic people in our community like Steven and his wife, Tara. They teach their children the value of the community they live in by giving back to their community in so many ways.
I’ll bet Steven’s kids could teach Mrs. Huff a thing or two about finding what’s positive in the community and how to work together to make it even better.
