Homer Ray Breeding, age 87, of Leitchfield, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009 at his home in Leitchfield.

He was born November 4, 1921 in Washington County, Ky., the son of Cecil Herbert and Ida Mae Cheatham Breeding. He was a retired employee of the General Electric Company, a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Mt Eden, Ky., also a member of the American Legion Post 81, a purple heart recipient, and a veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bell (Muncy) Breeding; seven sons, Ancel Ray Breeding of Bullitt Co., Ky., James Garland Breeding of Marion Co., Ky., Curtis Lee Breeding of Leitchfield, Herbert David Breeding of Jeffersontown, Ky., Paul Edwin Breeding of Leitchfield, Tony Marvin Breeding of Shelbyville, Ky., and Earl L. Breeding of Leitchfield; seven daughters, Alice Faye Moore of Taylorsville, Ky., Carolyn Sue Right of Green Wood, S.C., Lyida Lee Holcomb of Carrolton, Ky., Constance Martizie of TN, Marylin Sanders of Henry Co., Ky., Sharon Kindle of Green Wood, and Linda Diana Kennmounth of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Eugene and Elwood Breeding, both of Springfield, Ky.; two sisters, Waunita McMichael of Chaplin, Ky., and Beulah Coulter of Bardstown, Ky. Also a special grandchild, Tammy Sue Bolin, 38 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Anneta United Baptist Church, in Leitchfield, with Bro. Thomas Meredith officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home, in Leitchfield, after 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
