Have a supermodel squirrel? Is your horse the biggest ham in the world if a camera’s involved? There’s still time for them to become local superstars in the Grayson County News-Gazette’s annual Cutest Pets Contest.

Grab those snapshots of your animal companions and upload them in the contest section of our website, gcnewsgazette.com, soon, because the contest is winding up this weekend.

Simply click on the contest logo, in the upper right side of our homepage, and follow the directions. Registering in the contest will allow you both to submit photos and to vote.

Entries will be accepted through Saturday, Sept. 29, with voting wrapping up Sunday, Sept. 30. As of Friday afternoon, there were 20 entries ranging from puppies to poultry.

People can submit multiple entries, but can only submit photos of pets they own. Third party submissions will not be accepted. You must be 18 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible to submit photos or to vote in the contest. Each user account must include a validated email address. Accounts with addresses associated with temporary or disposable email services may be subject to removal.

Prizes will be awarded to Grayson County winners thanks to the generosity of local merchant A Shaggy Dog Pet Grooming, who is the contest’s title sponsor this year.

Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected.

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
