This unidentified man walked into the Bank of Clarkson and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
The Leitchfield City Police are asking for help identifying the man who robbed the bank of Clarkson on Main Street Wednesday around 1 p.m.

According to a report by Leitchfield Police Detective Garry Troutman a white male about six feet tall, weighing around 200 pounds wearing a burgundy and white thermal shirt and blue jeans walked into the bank of Clarkson and demanded money from the teller.

After receiving the money from the first tell he made the same demand from a second teller. He then walked out of the building and around to the back where he escaped on foot.

Leitchfield police are asking anyone with any leads on this robbery to contact them at (270) 259- 0303

I have noticed what fallenangel51 wrote. yes the cameras did show the woman in the black with not a worry in the world standing right next to the woman who is actually being robbed. and the customer leaning on the counter. no one is even looking at the robber. if i seen someone in a bank robbing a teller you better believe i would be scared to death and i would be watchin them. well i might be going out on a limb here but i think its funny how these people are acting and plus the police station 2 minutes away and he gets away on foot. i think maybe someone helped rob the bank if you know what i mean and maybe had it set up. they were gonna split some of the money.i heard he didnt even have a gun. they knew he wasnt gonna hurt them why they give up the money.

I have to agree with leitchfieldresident. The fact is that grayson county should put more effort into bringing more jobs into counties that need them. I myself have been looking for a job for some time without success. Honestly this is just the beginning i think. There are families out there that can no longer provide for their familes, so what is left to do. On the other hand perhaps it was as said before.. a drug head. In either case, WE should as a county look into bringing more jobs back. We are losing our ground here. Without the counties help, its bound to get worse.

Looking at the pictures from the banks camera, the situation looks strange to me. In one picture one of the tellers (the one in the black top) is standing crossed leg and it looks like she is not worried that a masked man in holding up the bank. In another picture a customer is leaning on the counter like they are doing bank business. They are not looking at the robber.

I might be wrong but if I were in a bank and it was being robbed I would be trying to find a place to hide or get out of the bank altogether.

This could be another example of what the economy in Grayson County is pushing people to do. Maybe if there were more jobs in this county people wouldn't do such stupid things. I'm just glad no one got hurt. If it wasn't someone who was out of a job maybe is was a dope head, this county seems to be full of those lately. Whatever the case maybe, it makes the people of this county feel unsafe.
