Patsy L. Jones, age 87, of Leitchfield, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

She was born on September 30, 1924, in Covington, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Elmer and Eva Jones Poole.

She was a former president and a 50-year employee of the Leitchfield Deposit Bank, where she was a member of the board of directors. She was an active member of the National Association of Banking Women, a 1941 graduate of Leitchfield High School, a member of the Grayson County Historical Society, a charter member of the Leitchfield Woman’s Club, and was a member of the Leitchfield First United Methodist Church.

Patsy loved crossword puzzles and was an avid UK sports fan, especially basketball, and has the distinction of traveling in all 50 of the United States.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Fletcher (Gary), of Leitchfield; her son, Hugh Russell Jones (Carole), of Louisville; six grandchildren, Keith Jones, of Louisville, Glen Jones, of Pee Wee Valley, Laura Slone, of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jon-Michael Fletcher, of Lexington, Ariel Duke, of Clarksville, Tenn., and Angelia Jones, of Campbellsville, Ky.; five great-grandchildren, Bryce, Nathan, Madison, Emma and Parker Jones, and a great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by one daughter-in-law, Deborah Jones, of Bowling Green.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Jones, and a son, Mark Edward Jones.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the Leitchfield First United Methodist Church. Bro. Fred Whitmore and Bro. David Harting will be officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
