An attempt to serve a felony warrant out of Hardin County resulted in the arrest of three Grayson County residents for manufacturing methamphetamines.
According to Deputy Bryan Hamons, of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department,officers arrived at a residence on the 900 block of King Road in Leitchfield to serve the warrant to Jeremy Payment, a 34-year-old Leitchfield resident who was wanted in Hardin County.
Deputy Buck Meredith lead the investigation and was assisted by Hamons and Special Deputies Dave Colston and Mark Stanton.
The officers placed Payment under arrest and searched him. The search revealed that he had a white substance in a coffee filter on his person.
“A methamphetamien field test was done,” said Hamons, “and the substance tested positive for meth.”
Deputies were then given consent by the homeowner, Kristi Gibson, 30, of Leitchfield, to search the residence.
An inactive meth lab was discovered in the living room of the home. A two-liter bottle which appeared to contain all necessary products for the manufacture of meth was discovered as well.
Both Payment and Gibson, along with 26-year-old Tonia Fox, of Grayson County, who was also in the home at the time, were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Payment was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Payment, Gibson and Fox were all arrested and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
