Loretta Cockerel, age 91, of Leitchfield, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, in Leitchfield.

She was born on October 21, 1920, in Grayson County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clarence and Suda White Quiggins.

She was a member of Holly Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Carl Mercer and his wife Deloris; one grandson, Michael Austin Mercer and his wife Heather; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Hibbard; ten nieces and nephews, and one special friend, Tim Carnes.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John C. Quiggins, and two sisters, Lorene Hack, and Loella Fraze.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Chester Shartzer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Holly Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
