James Harold Gore, 73, of Big Clifty, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.

He was born December 28, 1938, in Big Clifty, the son of Robert Lee and Hattie Tackleberry-Gore. He was a retired security guard for Dow Corning for 32 years, an Army MP, and a member of the Elizabethtown American Legion Post.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruby Catherine Dupin-Gore of Big Clifty; two children, Stephen Gore (Michelle) and Pamela Pearl (Pat), both of Big Clifty; two brothers, Donnie Gore (Judy) of Clarkson and Bobby Gore of Caneyville; and eight grandchildren, Chase, McKinley, Stetson, and Kennedi Gore, Chris, Noah, Abby, and Logan Pearl. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Paula Hazelwood and Patsy Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, at the Watson and Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Smith Chapel Cemetery in Eastview. Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. on Monday, July 2, and from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
