William Gordon Kiper, 89, of Leitchfield, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Springview Health & Rehab Center.
He was born Oc. 8, 1922, in Breckinridge County, the son of Samuel Thomas and Nancy Jane Carwile-Kiper. He was a carpenter, a member of the Clearview Baptist Church, and a volunteer firefighter for the Leitchfield Fire Department for more than 20 years.
He is survived by two stepdaughters, LaVonna Brock of Big Clifty and Linda Dennis of Hudson, Ky.; one brother, Audrey Kiper of Texas; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Edgar Kiper; one sister, Geneva Thornton; and three half-sisters, Bertha Miller, Bessie Mercer, and Lucy Rae Kiper.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Clearview Baptist Church with Bro. Chester Shartzer officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
