An ill-fated drive to work left one man overturned in a pond on Tuesday morning, May 22.
Michael King, 41, of Falls of Rough, was travelling on Hopewell Road, approximately 9 miles west of Caneyville when, according to the report filed by Deputy Buck Meredith of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department, he ran off the the side of the road and clipped a mailbox.
King then overcorrected and crossed the center line of the road into the opposite lane.
King’s vehicle, a 1993 Honda Accord, went into the ditch and subsequently overturned several times, according to King, before finally coming to a rest on its top in a pond on the side of Hopewell Road.
King sustained multiple injuries, though none were severe, according to the report.
King’s vehicle was severely damaged and was removed from the pond by King’s Wrecker Service.
