Nell B. Foley, age 87, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Leitchfield, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Some Place Like Home in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was born on December 15, 1924, in Carthage, TN, the daughter of the late Shorty and Annie Mae Green Gwyn. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed growing her beautiful flowers. She and her late husband, DC Foley, loved visiting the churches in the area, and making new friends, all of which grew to love them both. She was a member of the Short Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by four sons, Rodney Dale (Linda) and Lester Ray (Lilly) Sanford, both of Jacksonville, Florida, David G. Bibee, of Louisville, and Daryl T. Bibee of Lexington; two step-daughters, Marsha Kay Foley and Sherry Lynn Harshfield, both of Louisville; two step-sons, Ronald Dale Foley, of Georgia, and Timothy Alan Foley, of Louisville. She is also survived by several grandchildren, one of whom is Mark Foley.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dulan “DC” Foley, and one brother, Dale Gwyn.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, 2012, at the Short Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Bro. Chester Shartzer officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
