The Leitchfield Women’s Club will be hosting the first annual “Taste of the Holidays” event on Saturday, December 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The two-hour event, which will raise funds in support of community improvement projects, will begin at 11:30 on Saturday morning, and will provide a great place to stop in for lunch or just to taste-test the many dishes that will be presented.

Those cooks who would like to enter their favorite holiday recipes are greatly encouraged to do so, and can enter into competition in the following categories: meats, main dishes, vegetables, breads, salads, cakes, professional cakes, pies, candies, desserts, and miscellaneous.

The Women’s Club will offer door prizes and entertainment during the luncheon, and ribbons will be awarded at 1:30pm to the winners of the “Taste of the Holidays” cooking contest.

Admission to the event is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children, and, of course, includes activities as well as a great meal.

The club hopes to make this a yearly holiday fixture in order to raise funds for the projects that they do throughout the year.

The Women’s Club, which was recently awarded by the Chamber of Commerce for its efforts, regularly participates in community beautification projects as well as good will projects that help needy members of the community.
