He was born on March 6, 1960, in Grayson County, the son of Leonard Smith and Elsie Lindsey. He was a volunteer fireman for the East Grayson County Fire Department.
He is survived by two sons, Mark and Kevin Smith, both of Big Clifty; his mother, Elsie Lindsey, of Big Clifty; one brother, Everett Lindsey (Patty), of Big Clifty; two sisters, Willodean Jarboe (Jackie), of Leitchfield, and Pamela Smith (Jim), of Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Smith, one sister, Barbara Brenner, and one brother, Roger Smith.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.
