A mother and an infant child were involved in a single vehicle accident early Tuesday morning.

According to a report from the Grayson County Sheriff Rick Clemons, Jennifer DeClue, 20, was traveling on Wheeler Mill Road when the tires of 1995 Geo Prism she was driving dropped off the right side of the road.

DeClue over corrected the vehicle and lost control. The Prism traveled across the roadway striking an embankment.

The vehicle came to a final rest after striking a tree on the passenger side of the vehicle.

DeClue was transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center by the Grayson County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of her injuries.

DeClue’s infant son, 11- month-old Kaiden Smith, was in the back seat of the vehicle at the time of the accident.

It was reported Smith was uninjured.
