The Grayson County Sheriff’s Department closed down another methamphetamine lab in the Leitchfield area Wednesday, December 17.
Daniel Ray Mudd, 32, of Leitchfield and Amy Carter, 26, of Leitchfield, were arrested in connection with a meth lab discovered at their residence on Claggett Road, reported Sheriff Detective Terry Blanton.
Through an investigation Blanton began to look into the possibility of meth being manufactured at 302 Claggett Road.
The sheriff’s office, assisted by the state police and Marion Blankenship with his drug canine, Dudley, from the Grayson County Detention Center, executed a search warrant and turned up the lab.
Several items used to manufacture the drug were found in the mobile home. A one-step lab was found by the K-9 unit, under the home.
Police removed three children from the residence at the time of the search. Social services was called and the children were released to family members, reported Blanton.
The Greater Hardin County Drug Task Force was called to assist with the clean up of the lab.
Mudd was charged with manufacturing meth, possession of a controlled substance meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia second or subsequent offense.
Carter was charged with possession of a controlled substance meth, and possession of meth precursor.
Both Carter and Mudd are both being held at the Grayson County Detention Center. She is being held on a $5000 cash bond and Mudd is held on a $50,000 cash bond.
