Several thefts at a local boat supply store in the early morning hours of November 3 have left police searching for clues.

Renegade Marine and Outdoor Center Owner Sherbert Van Meter has issued a $2,500 reward for the recovery of four boat-motors stolen from his property.

Leitchfield Police Detective Gary Troutman said stolen were two 2009 Mercury 200-hp outboard motors, one 2009 Mercury 250-hp motor, and one 2009 Evenrude E-tech 225-hp motor.

In addition, a Honda eight-horsepower generator was stolen. Troutman said the red generator, valued at $1,500, was taken off a trailer sitting in the lot.

Troutman explained the suspects entered the lot of the business, where the boats and boat-motors were stored.

“I feel someone will have information about the thefts,” added Troutman. “We are needing any information leading to the arrest and grand jury indictments of the person or persons involved.”

Troutman can be contacted by phone at 270-259-3850, regarding the case. All information will be kept confidential.
