Just wanted to send an email of encouragement.
You are both creative and talented and I, and so many others, enjoy your writings.
Theresa, I read the comment of "Wise Up" to your article on the Great Turtle Race at the Fair.
I think "Wise Up" should get out in the community and check out some of the fairs, festivals, and activities you write about.
She might have fun. I don't know what her background is or her life experiences, but it takes a very unhappy person to be so mean-spirited.
The Hall family, here in Pine Knob, had two turtles in the race.
I think they said one of the little boy's turtles came in second.
It was a great day of making memories, family togetherness, and absolute fun for the kids.
Also, one more story, we saw a couple at the Fair who were enjoying the night together.
Twenty years ago, Brian and Amy had their first date at the Caneyville Fair and Homecoming.
Their lives went in different directions.
They both got married, had children, divorced, and then as life does bring about renewed joy - they met again, dated, married here at Pine Knob, and have been happily married for 5 years.
So the Fair that seems trivial to "Wise Up" holds a very special place in the hearts of Brian and Amy, as well as so many others in Grayson County.
Again, keep on writing, stay strong, and say a little prayer for "Wise Up." She needs all the good thoughts that we can force on her.
Sincerely,
Debby Shain
Caneyville
