Police snared a Stanford, Kentucky man last Friday as he worked as a carnival attendant at the Caneyville Fair and Homecoming.

Jock Black, 22, of Stanford Kentucky was arrested while working a carnival ride at the Caneyville Fair on an indictment warrant from Lincoln County.

“I had received a Teletype report with Black’s description and that he maybe working with the carnival rides at the fair,” said Deputy Sheriff Robert Jackson. “So I followed up on the lead and we shut down the ride and arrested him.”

The warrant listed Black’s charges as second degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking. He is currently being held at the Grayson County Detention Center. No bond has been set.

In separate incident, Deputy Jackson located and arrested Timothy Crowe, 34, of Louisville on a parole violation warrant.

“This guy had been on the run for a year,” said Jackson. “I received a tip, did some detective work and found him about a mile over the Butler County line and we made the arrest.”

Crowe was non-compliant with the sex offender registry and could not be tracked.

“We were assisted with this arrest by the Kentucky State police,” added Jackson. “It was huge that we got both these guys off the streets.”

Crowe is currently being held at the Grayson County Detention Center on a $20,000 cash bond.
