The facility, located at 619 West Main Street, provides primary care, mental health care, and preventative and ancillary services to veterans and their families.
Louisville VA Public Affairs Officer Judy Williams said, “In addition to the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony, there will also be a special tribute to honor POW/MIA Recognition Day.”
Hours of operation for the clinic are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of holidays.
The 8,000 square foot building features 12 exam rooms, private offices, a teleconference room, and a group room.
“The examination rooms are equipped with computer terminals that directly interface with the computer system at the VA medical center in Louisville,” explained Williams.
She added that veterans’ medical records will be immediately accessible if they need to be referred to the Louisville VA office for me dical care.
“We are very proud to partner with the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs,” said Williams, “to ensure Kentucky veterans and their families receive all the benefits and services they have earned.”
A representative from the KDVA will visit the Clarkson VA office four days a week, providing benefits counseling, and other needed services.Williams added, “The VA has established itself as one of the top health care organizations in the country. By putting health care facilities in more communities, we are enhancing veterans’ access to VA’s world-class health care.”
