Grayson County residents are looking for ‘Fair’ weather this week and they are hoping rain is not in the forecast
With the start of the 59th Annual Grayson County Fair on Tuesday evening, fair-goers look forward to the many events scheduled for the week.
This year there is something special for the kids. Eudora Farms have brought in a special selection of their fascinating and exciting animals for an interactive, educational, exotic petting zoo. There is no extra cost unless you want a ride or to feed the animals.
The popular beauty pageants will go on as scheduled with the Miss Teen and Miss Grayson County Contest taking place on Tuesday night.
A change in the location of the Fair Beauty and Little Miss and Mister contests will have the youngsters in the pavilion this year and the Mrs. Grayson County contests at the grandstand on Wednesday evening.
Karaoke will be offered each evening and a demolition derby will fill the grandstands with spectators on Thursday and Friday.
A few new events will be the Grayson County Antique Tractor and Engine Show at 12 p.m. and a corn-hole tournament at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The KTPA Truck and Tractor Pull will be Saturday night beginning at 6 p.m.
Visiting the local venders is one of the attraction of the county fair and seeing who won all the blue ribbons and who grew the biggest watermelon is just part of the fun at the county fair.
The rides and the carnival games will be available every night of the fair.
It all winds up on Monday morning with a Labor Day Parade.
